From Hwy 54, go south on Rge Rd 2-3 for 3.5 km. Turn east at the gate, sign posted “Dickson Dam” and follow road down to parking lot.
Red Deer River and Gleniffer Lake (reservoir created by the dam), willows, spruce and aspen woods.
Hiking on rough trial along edge of river.
ducks, Common Loon, American White Pelican, Bald Eagle. In winter: overwintering waterfowl, Gyrfalcon, Bohemian Waxwing.

More birds will be seen in the spring and summer seasons, but all locations will have some winter birds. Typical and common species can be expected for each habitat described. Large deep lakes typically attract migrating waterfowl, (ducks, swans, and geese). Notable Species are species of special interest that have been recently recorded in or near the area.
