Open grassy fields, dense old-growth forests, fishing ponds, Red Deer River and escarpment.
From the parking lot walk along the paved path to the north, which leads down to the grasslands and the ponds. Take the stairs down to the Red Deer River. A bridge at the bottom of the escarpment connects to the walking/biking trail to Bower Ponds.
Great Horned Owl, woodpeckers, warblers, sparrows.
Stairs can be icy in winter.

More birds will be seen in the spring and summer seasons, but all locations will have some winter birds. Typical and common species can be expected for each habitat described. Large deep lakes typically attract migrating waterfowl, (ducks, swans, and geese). Notable Species are species of special interest that have been recently recorded in or near the area.
